Notes from 36,000 feet and 12 days(Written on Tuesday Sept 14th at some time!)
The engines hum and the air outside is cold while this metal tube rushes through the air, 36,000 feet above the earth at over 500 miles (800klm) an hour.
I sit with a computer on my lap writing to you and while you read this you can imagine yourself on a plane flying somewhere and experiencing the same things I am.
Today sees me return from a 12 day, 2 trade shows and several meetings agenda in and around the UK.
I got to see the real London this time - shared with a local (my UK sales agent) for the Angels.
And although the accents are different, the landscape is different and the food is defnitely different,
I discovered that the same dreams, challenges and driving forces are the same for those of us lucky enough to be a part of this thing we've called the human race.
Your Life Tip For Today Is...
"Are you missing the point of what and why we're here and what experiences are available for us to enjoy?"
Let me give you an example...
We usually drive the same way to get to a certain point we're familiar with in our day to day lives.
Whether it's school, job, shopping, you name it.
You know it and I know it.
I saw this first hand when my UK agent was directed by the GPS to take a different route than he normally takes into London on the Sunday morning in readiness for the London Gift Fair.
There wasn't much traffic around so we figured - what the heck.
Turns out - he'd never driven that way and discovered a new and pretty quick way to get into town.
So what's this got to do with your Life Tip?
Think about it - I want you to stop and take stock of everything you've achieved so far in your life's journey.
Now I want you to write down 5 things you do the same all the time.
And last but not least...
Walk outside, take 30 minutes and look around - what's in the garden, is there a colony of ants moving something, a bird chirping, tree's swaying, what does the sky look like?
OK - that wasn't the last thing...
I want you to stop and really look at the people that surround you.
And I mean LOOK at them.
Look into their eyes, give them a hug if you want.
Walk your kids to school without being in a hurry, go for a walk on Saturday morning and say hi to your neighbours.
This life we lead is pretty amazing - no... it's AWESOME.
Are you taking in each moment and enjoying it?
From 36,000 feet somewhere over Canada as we head towards San Francisco International Airport (how surreal does that sound?)
Peace
